Edmond was originally known as the "Summit" station of the Santa Fe Railroad. The town of Edmond practically sprang up overnight during the 1889 Oklahoma land rush. Even today there is plenty of space left, and general Edmond demographics information is online if you wonder how fast the town is growing.

If you're interested in a bit of feathered vertebrate watching, and whatever else might be in view, check out the Okie Bird webcam.
